I've only been on Wikipedia for 1 month, and in fact only figured out that "Listening" was a subheading of "External links" yesterday! I wish the Schickele article focused more on Schickele's "serious" music. I am strongly of the opinion that he is one of the USA's finest composers, synthesizing classical and vernacular musics like jazz, blues, bluegrass, minimalist music, etc. into a very convincing whole. But he's just not appreciated for this as much as he should be; his PDQ Bach stuff undermines his best work (although I like all of it). Badagnani 19:14, 29 July 2005 (UTC)
I highly recommend checking out his "Quartet" for violin, clarinet, cello, and piano. I guess he wrote it for these instruments because it's for the same instrumentation as Messiaen's "Quartet for the End of Time." So it is often paired with that great work. He has another piece called "Serenade for Six," which is for the "Trout Quintet" instrumentation plus bassoon that is also incredible. Badagnani 19:25, 29 July 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Wikimedia Canada
Hi there! I'd like to invite you to explore Wikimedia Canada, and create a list of people interested in forming a local chapter for our nation. A local chapter will help promote and improve the organization, within our great nation. We'd also like to encourage everyone to suggest projects for our national chapter to participate in. Hope to see you there!--DarkEvil 15:26, 5 February 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Xena episodes category?
Hi Doug,
Is there currently a category for Xena episodes? The Bitter Suite, for example, is uncategorized. Thanks, Andjam 13:24, 30 April 2006 (UTC)
