[edit] Story

Kya is about a girl named Kya and her brother Frank who went into a their basement’s secret passageway and accidentally end up transported into a whole new universe, and are separated while going through the passage to the new universe. While Kya looks for her brother, she meets creatures called Nativs, who befriend her and help her look for her brother. Kya later finds out that the Nativs are being attacked by Wolfens, which are Nativs transformed into evil wolfens by the Wolfens' evil ruler Brazul. Kya soon finds out that Brazul is her father, who disappeared years ago.

Kya is realized by the Nativs that she can save the Nativs. The Nativs give Kya the power of exorcising to free the Wolfens and turn them back into Nativs. In return for freeing the Nativs, the Nativs will help find Kya’s brother and build shops for Kya so she can buy new items for her quest. Besides finding her brother, she must find the medallion, which will bring Kya back to her universe. The medallion can be and is split into seven pieces called Runes that are made out of pure energy. The seven runes that form the medallion are put into a holder called a Receptacle that Kya must find before she can find the pieces of the medallion. In any case, Kya will have to confront Brazul and find all about her dark lineage.

[edit] Fighting style

Kya has a few but unique fighting styles. The first style of fighting is Kya’s Boomy. Kya can use her Boomy (which is like a boomerang) to attack monsters, cut ropes, hit switches and levers and annoy and confuse the heck out of Wolfen.

The second style of fighting Kya can use is fist fighting, which is given to her by magical bracelets that allow her to learn new moves and become a stronger opponent. Kya can fight Wolfen only by fist fighting. Kya can go from a punch to a double Salto kick.

The third style is simple. Kya can buy and use electric bombs that shoot out electricity for a few seconds.

[edit] Characters

Image:KDLKYA.jpg Kya: She may be from the city but don't be fooled nothing stops Kya, not inter dimensional travel, not even a threat of world destruction, Kya has found the hero within, she combines her new strength to right what has gone wrong.

Image:Brazul.jpg Brazul: This dark presence is ruler of the parallel universe and the creator of evil wolfens, he possesses terrifying magical powers and knowledge, by perfecting the transformation of nativs to wolfens brazul is truly a madman. He is also the reason why Kya is in the parallel world- and this is why Kya must face brazul in order to rescue her brother, save the nativs and find away home.

Image:Atea.jpg Atea: atea is the main nativ that you befriend, he will help you on your missions and tell you where to go and how.

Aton: Aton is another main character nativ that will help you on your missions but the question is does he trust you? and can you trust him?

Image:Stuffofkdl.jpg Stuff: This crazy animal is a rare species that allows Atea to contact Kya by telepathy while Kya is on a mission of sorts, stuff can also give you tips on what to do or where to go.

Image:Nativs.jpg Nativs: They are a gentle tribe that are snatched by brazul and turned into wolfens , they live in nativ city passing time to build shops so you can buy new items on your quest, remember when you transform a wolfen back into a nativ they help and build more shops for you.

Image:Wolfens.jpg Wolfens: They are the terrible army of Brazul, former Nativs mutated by evil. The only way to transform a Wolfen back into a Nativ is by knocking them out in a normal fight without your boomy, and exorcise them.

Frank: Frank is Kya’s brother who is taken away to Brazul’s laboratory.

[edit] References and trivia

  • The game was originally to have a sequel, but due to the poor ratings, the idea was scraped.
  • Kya is the only female in the entire game, excluding some of the monsters you fight.
  • Because there are no females in the game (besides Kya), it is unknown how Nativs reproduce (if possible), unless the female nativs are hidden or are in an alternate town.( If there is an alternate town it could be just like suikoden 3 where there is a town full of girls and no males).
  • In nativ city there are only two nativs that walk around on each floor, besides the main character nativs and nativs in shops or the nativs that are building shops.
  • Kya has to free 260 wolfen.
  • There are 260 wolfen that Kya can turn back into wolfen and yet you only meet around 20 or less nativs in nativ city, in the entire game.
  • Kya dark lineage has two endings one ending can be obtained when Kya rescues all of the nativs and the other is when Kya does not rescue all of the nativs.
  • Kya Dark Lineage fans are not sure about there being two endings because one fan of the game made two save files of Kya dark lineage, one where he/she got all of the wolfens to turn back into nativs and one where not all of the wolfen were transformed back into to nativs, and this fan got the same ending for both files, which made fans speculate on if there are two endings, other fans have also gotten all of the nativs and got the same ending as not retrieving all of the nativs, although there might be a secret non counting wolfen you might have to free.
  • There are three wolfen you do not or are unknown that you can free.
