Daryl Smith

Daryl Smith (born April 14, 1982 in Albany, Georgia) is an American football player who currently plays linebacker for the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Smith attended Georgia Tech. He started 44 of 46 games for Tech, recording 383 tackles with 15 sacks, 48 stops for losses, three interceptions, 12 pass deflections, four fumble recoveries and three forced fumbles. His 383 tackles rank 11th on the school's all-time record list and his 48 stops behind the line of scrimmage are the most ever by a Tech linebacker.

Smith was drafted in the 2004 NFL Draft by the Jacksonville Jaguars. In his rookie season, he started 13 games and played in 15, but was slowed by a knee injury in the middle of the season. However, he still managed to finish eighth on the team in tackles with 78, and record two sacks, one interception and one fumble recovery.
