The airline was established on August 12, 2003 and operations started on July 28, 2004.

Darwin Airline operates the following services (at January 2005):

• Domestic scheduled destinations: Berne, Geneva and Lugano.

• International scheduled destinations: London City, Olbia, Cagliari and Rome.

Darwin Airline currently operates services between Lugano and Zurich and Berne to London City on behalf of Swiss International Air Lines. ^[2]
