Darton High School

Darton High School is a Secondary School in Darton in the Metropolitan Borough of Barnsley, South Yorkshire, England. It is a specialist Humanities college. The school is situated on Churchfield Lane and has more than 1150 pupils attending it.
The headmaster of the school is Simon Hill, who was appointed in 2006 after the former head left. The decision was made by governers and by members of the student council.
The school teaches many different subjects including English, Maths, Science, French, Dance and Drama, Religious Studies and more.
The student council, led by Rebecca Wood, jamie swift and christopher hogg has a major role as a representer of the views of the students. the student councils main responsibilities include organising non uniform days,representing the students views, and organising charity events,also the student council has recently over the last year focused mainly on the world vision tanzanian school house project,additionally last year under joe biggs and jack tindale's leadership the student council acheived some of the greatest things possible... The school's students are in Years 7 to 11.
The school is a proud supporter of multiple charities including PACT and is helping to build a schoolhouse in Tanzania. The school uniform days are always a big hit with the students and bring lots of money to the charities.
The school often is mentioned in the Darton version of the Barnsley Chronicle and for good reasons.
The school is also closely related to the Barnsley Youth Council with Joe Biggs and Kieran Evans both being Youth Councillors who are pupils at the school.
