Darrin Van Horn

Darrin Van Horn (born September 7, 1968 in Morgan City, Louisiana), was a professional boxer in the Super Middleweight (168lb) division. Known as the "Schoolboy", Van Horn turned pro in 1984 won his first 39 professional fights, including the IBF Light Middleweight Title with a decision win over Robert Hines in 1989. Van Horn lost the belt in his next fight, a defense against Gianfranco Rosi. In 1990 he rematched Rosi and put up a better effort, but still came up short in a decision loss. In 1991 he again won the IBF Super Middleweight Title with an 11th round KO of Lindell Holmes. After one defense, he lost the belt to Iran Barkley via a 2nd round TKO. After six wins over minimal competition, he retired in 1994 with a record of 53-3-0.
