Darren Jarman (born January 28, 1967) is a former Australian rules footballer who played in the Australian Football League.
[edit] 1991-1995
The former North Adelaide and Norwood SANFL player was initially drafted by Melbourne and then to Brisbane before finally making his debut for Hawthorn in 1991. He played a minor role in his side’s Premiership side in his debut season but went from strength to strength as he made his name as a forward in future years.
Darren Jarman only ever played for North Adelaide in the SANFL. His brother Andrew (the current coach of the NAFC) played for both North Adelaide & Norwood.
[edit] Move to Adelaide
In 1996, Jarman was traded to the Adelaide Crows. He became an immediate focal point up forward, and played a major role in both the 1997 and 1998 Grand Final wins, booting six goals against St. Kilda in ’97 (five of which were in the last quarter) and five goals in the ’98 win over North Melbourne.
[edit] Retirement
Jarman retired after the 2001 Elimination Final loss to Carlton after 230 games (109 with Hawthorn and 121 with Adelaide), 386 goals (122 with Hawthorn and 264 with Adelaide), and three Premierships.
