Darrell Sweet (musician)

Darrell Antony Sweet, (May 16, 1947, Bournemouth, England - April 30, 1999) was a legendary drummer for the Scottish hard rock band Nazareth. He was co-founder of Nazareth, which was formed in 1968.
Darrel Sweet died of a heart attack on 30 April 1999 as the band prepared to set out on the second leg of its U.S. tour in support of its latest album, Boogaloo. The band had arrived at Indiana's New Albany Amphitheater when the 51-year-old Sweet began to feel ill. Within minutes he had gone into cardiac arrest. He was taken to the New Albany Hospital, where doctors pronounced him dead. Sweet is survived by his wife, Marion, and one son. He was replaced by Pete Agnew's son, Lee Agnew.
