[edit] Storyline

The Darkstar One is an advanced, unique starship built by the murdered father of the player character, Kayron Jarvis. The ship makes use of alien artifacts that are scattered across the galaxy, yet still can be found very easily. The artifacts will allow the player to enhance the ship to be bigger, better and faster, according to their personal preferences.

[edit] The game universe

The player is able to travel through up to 300 solar systems regrouped in more than 20 clusters. The clusters are populated with one of the six races within the game universe: the Terran, the Mortok, the Raptor, the Oc'to, the Arrack and the Thul. Each have unique ships, weapons, space stations, and battle tactics. All of these races, except the Thul, are part of the galactic union, a UN-like body formed by the Terran after a galactic war, which had left the Terran empire in ruin and made them very vulnerable to any attacks.

[edit] Features

While Darkstar One is primarily story-based, it allows the player to explore the universe on his/her own. For example, the number of artifacts in the galaxy is limited; thus, the player will not be able to upgrade everything on the starship.

There are many ways to earn the money needed to buy better equipment for the Darkstar One, ranging from shipping goods from one planet to another to escort services and even bounty hunt or accepting mercenary contracts.

[edit] Trivia

  • After the main mission is completed, a system will be 'unlocked' near the bottom of the navigation map in the Arrack territories. This system holds the 'infamous' Ascaron Ent. GmbH gang, which consists of capital ships (and fighters) named after the development team.
  • No matter how distant an object can appear in space, the player's ship is able to reach it, given enough time or patience. While most objects in a system are approximately 10-15 'units' from the player's start position, some systems have asteroid fields, and other objects, located 50-100 'units' away.
