Darkness is the main antagonist of the fan-made video games Hero and Darkness. Darkness is a quiet, dark minded chao who was slayed 360,000 years ago by Hero. His past with Hero is a dark secret, a secret that only Hero and himself know.

Darkness is dark chao, and then later, a silver colored Chaos Chao with a cloak that seemingly is "attached" to his body. He can transform into a mutated-looking "Final form".

Darkness is quiet. He thinks dark thoughts seems to be in ever-lasting anguish. He also likes to tease Hero with jokes and pranks of sorts, including insults in foregin languages. Darkness seems to hold a no mercy against anyone who interfers with him.

Darkness' role in Hero and Darkness, seems at first to be the main antagonist, but it is later revealed that he has had a crush on Hero, and that he never loved his assumed love, Jessie/Jester the Rella chao. Darkness uses his jokes and "devil" plots involing the Six "Thingys"(Jewels that hold high power and acient legends in the Chao world, simmilar to the Chaos Emeralds) to try and cumminicate his dark past. It is also revealed he is slayed by Hero 360,000 because she thought that Darkness had held a grudge against Hero for a different reason then she thought and because she thought Darkness had abondoned her for the afore mentioned Jessie. After Hero gathers six "Thingys", she goes into Darkness' lair in Hell to defeat Darkness and foil his "plan". Darkness battles Hero twice, then transforms into his "Final Form" for one more battle. He then dissappears, only saying "he'd see her again real soon". He has a brother named Chao, whom is only seen a short time.
