Dark Moon (song)

With words and music conceived by ex-pipefitter Ned Miller, "Dark Moon" became an overnight sensation. It scored on both the country and popular charts in 1957. Singer Bonnie Guitar took it to the country charts; Gale Storm to the pop charts. Storm's version, with Ned Miller himself on guitar, hit #4 on Billboard. Tony Brent's rendition of the immensely appealing hit #20 in the UK in July of 1957

"Dark Moon," with its haunting rhythm and forlorn lyrics, has been covered by numerous artists, past and present, including Gale Storm, Tony Brent, Lynne Anderson, Mandy Barnett, Teresa Brewer, Bonnie Guitar, Hawkshaw Hawkins, Frank Ifield, Chris Isaak, Loretta Lynn, Ned Miller, Patti Page, Elvis Presley, Jim Reeves, and Hank Snow.
