The Dark Gods are fictional characters that exist within the Marvel Comics Universe, and are in effect the evil opposites of the Asgardians. The Asgardians first came into contact with the Dark Gods many millennia ago, when Odin sent a scout to explore the universe. This scout found Narcisson - the city of the Dark Gods - and was drawn in conflict with Tserron, wife of the prince Perrikus. The scout slew Tserron and escaped, not realising that Perrikus had allowed him to escape so as to determine where the scout originated from. Once Perrikus learnt of Asgard, the Dark Gods attacked and after a long and bloody war defeated the Asgardians. Just as Odin was about to be killed by Perrikus, an infant Thor aided Odin, who in turn banished the Dark Gods.

Perrikus and the surviving Dark Gods returned over a millenium later, and once again confronted Odin and a now adult Thor. In addition to Perrikus, the core group of Dark Gods consisted of:

  • Majeston Zelia - the leader
  • Adva - god of Portals and Knowledge
  • D'Chel - god of Deceit
  • Slototh - god of Filth
  • Tokkots - god of Corruption

After a battle the Asgardians were again defeated. Thor saw Perrikus cleave his hammer Mjolnir in two with a magical jet-black scythe. Despite this, however, Thor regrouped, and with the aid of fellow immortal Hercules and the Asgardian Destroyer routed the Dark Gods once more. Sometime later the god slayer Desak found the Dark Gods and slaughtered all but Perrikus and Adva. They escaped and later teamed to battle Thor at the behest of Zarrko the Tomorrow Man. The encounter, however, went badly for Perrikus as Thor severed his right arm with the Bloodaxe. Perrikus and Adva retreated and their current whereabouts is unknown.
