Dark Castle Entertainment

Dark Castle Entertainment is a division of Silver Pictures, a production house affiliated with Warner Bros. When first formed, the goal of Dark Castle was to remake William Castle horror films from the 1950s and 60s. It has since moved on to producing original material along with the remakes.

Dark Castle Entertainment was formed in 1999 by Joel Silver, Robert Zemeckis and Gilbert Adler. The first film to debut was "House on Haunted Hill," a remake of the late William Castle movie of the same name. William Castle directed horror films during the 1950s and 60s, including "13 Ghosts," "The Tingler," and "Macabre".
