Darius Mehrjui

Darius Mehrjui (Persian: داریوش مهرجویی , born 8 December 1939 in Tehran) is an Iranian film director, screenwriter, producer, and film editor.
Graduated in philosophy from UCLA in 1964, Darius Mehrjui made his debut, Diamond 33, in 1966. His next film, The Cow, is an outstanding work in his career and history of Iranian cinema.
He is regarded as one of the intellectual directors of Iranian cinema and most of his films are inspired by literature and adopted based on Iranian and foreign novels and plays.
