Dar (tribe)

Dar (Urdu: ڈار) is a Kashmiri tribe and family name in Kashmir. It is derived from Sanskrit "Dhar". Kashmir had a high concentration of Brahmins in antiquity, many last names in Kashmir are shared by both Pandits and the Muslims.
