From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Daphne Major is an island part of the archipelago Colon, commonly known as the Galapagos Islands. This particular island was the location of the intense study of Darwin's Finches conducted by biologists Peter and Rosemary Grant. It is just North of the island of Santa Cruz. Their intensive studies mainly involved the study of the behaviour of finches in an attempt to prove Darwin's theory of evolution.
