categorically saying that the laws contravene an international convention, where not everyone agrees that is the case, is POV. In my opinion and in many other people's view it does not contravene it. Please explain to me why you believe that there is no question about it. Xtra 08:33, 12 November 2005 (UTC)
If everyone is on an AWA, doesn't that imply that they have chosen not to be union? Aditionally laws and rules are open to interpretation, you and unions have interpretation of this convention and I and others have another. Xtra 10:42, 12 November 2005 (UTC)
As I said. It is a matter of interperetation. You are extraordinarily arrogant if you think that your interpretation is the only correct one. I know far more than you give me credit for and I take great offence at your assertion that because I dissagree with you, I must not know verry much. You may believe in a right to join a union, but I also believe in a right not to join a union. I believe that in a deregulated workplace, employement will increase and productivity will got up. Wages will increase and everyone will be on a level playing field. This can only be achieved if employers have as many rights as employees. Something that they do not have at the moment. I know an employer who was sued for unfair dissmissal for sacking a thief. Is that fair? The current laws are like shackles. They tie the people down. At least in my opinion. Xtra 06:33, 13 November 2005 (UTC)
You will never agree with me and I will never agree with you, but that is not the point. The point was that you ware claiming some kind of omnipotence in your opinion over mine. That is just plain wrong. I am entitled to my opinion, just as you are to yours, and to suggest otherwise is arrogant. And about PSYCH. PSYCH was a crazy and racist person and the Arbitration Committee dealt with him/her. I have time for everyone of all political persuasions, except those who refuse to recognise the legitimacy of other's opinions. Xtra 06:54, 13 November 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Deletion of 'green wikipedians' category
Hi. I saw you're (like me) listed in this category which is up for deletion. Hoped you'd like to vote in favor of keeping it... Even if I'm Dutch, whom you don't seem to like ;) Thanks! Larix 02:25, 20 December 2005 (UTC)
- My pleasure entirely. Thanks for the voting!
- One other thing, btw. I've been looking at your userboxes, and thought you might be interested in adding this one: {{user humanist}}, being atheist and freethinking and all :) Larix 13:13, 20 December 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Your comment on the Kerry Packer talk page
Hi. Are you sure it's a good idea to mention how you feel about Packer's death on the talk page? Thanks, Andjam 02:14, 27 December 2005 (UTC)
- I guess I'm just a stickler for civility. Sure, criticise his actions, but I just felt that it was unhelpful to say that you're glad / not unhappy he died. On a side note, I don't anticipate the same rose-tinted glasses for Packer that were used for Joh. Andjam 03:01, 27 December 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Your philosophies
Hi Dankru, and Happy New Year. I couldn't help feeling that your "philosophies" on your user page are mostly criticisms of other people's philosophies. I'd be much more interested in knowing what you advocate. Cheers JackofOz 04:33, 2 January 2006 (UTC)
- Hey, I like the new version. Cheers JackofOz 10:59, 2 January 2006 (UTC)
[edit] New South Wales Teachers Federation
Regarding New South Wales Teachers Federation and NSW Teachers Federation, please don't cut and paste the content an article, it loses the edit history. Instead, use the move button at the top of an article (near edit) to move an article. I have deleted the copy/paste and done a proper move, but please don't do any more cut and paste moves. See Help:Moving a page. Thanks, -Greg Asche (talk) 02:13, 8 January 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Height of Alisa Camplin
Hi Dankru,
Your comment She is Australian. We use the metric system. There is a Wikipedia policy on this was a bit harsh. It wasn't attempt to establish American hegemony. Many Australians prefer using pounds, shillings and pence for height.
Incidentally, what's the policy? Wikipedia:Manual_of_Style_(dates_and_numbers)#Measurements doesn't seem to indicate anything. Other policies would be that Australian English should be used, but imperial units is sometimes part of said English. Thanks, Andjam 22:52, 18 February 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Image Tagging Image:56846922.jpg
|
Thanks for uploading Image:56846922.jpg. I notice the 'image' page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you have not created this media yourself then there needs to be an argument why we have the right to use the media on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the media yourself then it needs to be specified where it was found, i.e., in most cases link to the website where it was taken from, and the terms of use for content from that page.
If the media also doesn't have a copyright tag then one should be added. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media qualifies as fair use, consider reading fair use, and then use a tag such as {{fairusein|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other media, consider checking that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any unsourced and untagged images will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Image legality questions page. Thank you. — Rebelguys2 talk 00:08, 3 April 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Gabba
Hi, I noticed you changed Gabba from a redirect to a disambiguation. It has caused loads of links to a disambiguation paged instead of going to Gabber music. Is there a fast way of changing them all over or should it be changed back? Not really sure but I thought you might know/be able to help. Cheers Rex the first 19:02, 7 April 2006 (UTC)
I have fixed many if the redirects but just so you know in future see Disambiguation next time. Sorry if this seems a bit pedantic but I thought it might help in future. Rex the first 08:51, 16 April 2006 (UTC)

[edit] North Sydney Boys' High School
Hey,
I noticed in your november '05 talk page comment that you called your experience at NSBHS 'horrible', and I'm sorry to hear that. I graduated in 2004 and during that final year most of the grade pulled together, and there was a real camaraderie between students and a good relationship between teachers and students. While personally I am not the most easiest person to get along with or the most sociable of people I left on good terms with most of the people in the grade, and I'd like to think others like me had the same experience. Having gone to uni and discussed high school experiences with a number of people, I feel lucky that my school didn't have as widespread bullying problems or social cliques that would go out of their way to exclude people socially as seems to be the case in many high schools, especially in single-sex schools it seems. Overall I'd say my high school experience was better at NSB than it would have been at another public school.
Now that I've explained my experience I should point out that I'm not trying to have a go at you, and I can understand how you could have had a negative experience. By good fortune of having classmates who shared a good sense of humour and an egalitarian nature I enjoyed my high school experience when my character and personality (and complete lack of interest in sports) might have led me to have a miserable experience had I attended another school. I am curious though, what was it about NSB that made you characterise it as 'horrible', and what year did you finish?
Cheers
Unnamed 08:43, 16 April 2006 (UTC)
- Hello, anon. Might I suggest you get an account as I don't like talking to anonymous people, if for no other reason than there's no way of them knowing I have responded unless they check this page. And I do not take what you said as criticism of what I said at all.
- As to when I finished, lets' say it was a few years before you. But not that long ago. I don't like coincedences and to answer the actual year may well give away my identity as I have come across more than one former student online. And often "Falconians" have older brothers or friends who went to NSBHS.
- You sound a tad like me actually, in how you describe yourself. The difference is that my year was full of cliques and I had a falling out with the one I was in. By that stage it was too late to establish new social networks and ex-friends went out of their way to make my life miserable. Egalitarianism was not a culture I experienced much there.
- In all honesty, I never quite fit in at any rate. I am a bit of a radical and found the notion of wearing blazers conformist and elitist. I also despised the way people would look down on other schools, particularly local non-selective high schools. This too was elitist. Teachers encouraged this elitism and a sense of forboding if you did not succeed, as if the HSC is the end of the world - it is not. It was pathetic.
- I also think that selective high schools these days are not really for gifted students, but really are just dominated by students with rich parents who can afford to send their kids to an insane number of hours of extra tutoring. The whole process has been subverted. No doubt I will sound racist, but I thought it was not fair to kids born in Australia to not get into schools (since their parents had actually paid taxes in Aus) to lose places to students who often had lived most of their life overseas. Some students even had parents who had never been in Australia. But that is more a general criticism of the social contract and the effects of globalisation. For the record, my best friends are from NESB (non English speaking backgrounds).
- So my background is quite different. My own shyness and personality probably did not help the situation. But I loved my university studies and the independence and real learning I did there. In all honesty, I don't remember most of the crap I learnt at high school - tests were largely regurgitation exercises. So, the place was horrible to me, but most students from NSBHS seemed to have liked it - each to their own as they say.Dankru 12:52, 17 April 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Personal Attack
Personal attacks are not acceptable on wikipedia under any circumstance. Can you please explain why you resorted to one here and here? Xtra 15:07, 6 May 2006 (UTC)
- What you said is a personal attack. Telling another editor that I am mindlessly reverting some worthwhile edit encourages vandalism by those who think you will back up their POV pushing. If you cannot see that then that is your problem not mine. I am trying to create a reputable and neutral encyclopaedia here. Xtra 08:56, 7 May 2006 (UTC)
- As the user who's talk page is the subject of this I would like to state categorically that my opinion of the user Xtra has been effected imeasurably more by Xtra's own actions and words than by the 3 lines of text written by Dankru. I in fact found the the note from Dankru to be valuable in terms of this opinion being shared by another and not an isolated one.—Dananimal 00:30, 28 June 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Greens and Dems
Certainly the Democrat leadership has adopted this view (that the Greens are 'too radical' to play the Dems' historical role), largely IMHO because they are concerned by the perception that a large portion of their support has been transferred to the Greens. I suppose we all should look at the figures, but I might underline the view that Democrats voters abandoned their party for the Greens is certainly popular among the Democrats themselves. Slac speak up! 09:52, 7 May 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Template
I am happy to put the code of the deleted template on your user page. I would have been happier if you hadn't decided to throw civility out the window while contacting me. What I did was not arbitrary, indecent, or enforcing my viewpoint; it was enforcing policy. Wikipedia is not a democracy or a bureaucracy. Dmcdevit·t 17:34, 11 May 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Australian Maritime Officers Union
Hi Dankru, I just replaced the AMOU logo on this page. I managed to find one that was a little larger, without the background colour. If you're OK with that, I'll list Image:Amou.gif for deletion. (BTW, there needs to be a source for each image. I would assume this gif came from the AMOU website, but the link needs to be included on the image page.) Cheers. --Bookandcoffee 20:44, 19 June 2006 (UTC)
- And Image:Anfederation.gif at Australian Nursing Federation as well. - No I'm not stalking your edits, :) I'm just working my way through the ACTU affiliates in the next few days. I keep seeing your name on article history pages! --Bookandcoffee 21:04, 19 June 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Two terms
Some have said 1.5, some have said 2. Eg citation 24 (news.com.au) reports two terms, "Mr McLachlan's notes refer to an "undertaking" reportedly given by Mr Howard to hand over the leadership to Mr Costello after two terms", as well as citation 25. Timeshift 04:18, 11 July 2006 (UTC)

Thanks for uploading Image:Logies cover 1990.jpg. I notice the 'image' page currently specifies that the image can be used under a fair use license. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. [edit] Re:Interesting mix
Hey Dankru, thanks for your message. When I was growing up, my parents always told me that I'm unique! :)
I think party politics is often hereditary. My parents are both Liberal Party members and they actually met at a Liberal Party function--Robert Timms's daughter set them up! Now that I'm all grown up, I guess I'm more of an independent, politically. I share some of the concerns you express on your user page, and I disagree with many Liberal policies but I'm also not keen on the ALP.
With all the current problems with workplace reforms, I think it is particularly important to be a member of a union. At least it seems that way in my field.
Thanks for saying hello; it's always nice to meet another Aussie. Cheers, Sarah Ewart (Talk) 08:13, 8 August 2006 (UTC)

Thanks for uploading Image:Crackerjackpromo.jpg. I notice the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear.
