[edit] Welcome to the Military history WikiProject!
Hi, and welcome to the Military history WikiProject! As you may have guessed, we're a group of editors working to improve Wikipedia's coverage of topics related to military history.
A few features that you might find helpful:
- Our navigation box points to most of the useful pages within the project.
- The announcement and open task box is updated quite regularly. You can watchlist it if you're interested; or, you can add it directly to your user page by including {{WPMILHIST Announcements}} there.
- Most important discussions take place on the project's main discussion page; it is recommended that you watchlist it.
- The project has a monthly newsletter; it will normally be delivered as a link, but several other formats are available.
There are a variety of interesting things to do within the project; you're free to participate however much—or little—you like:
- Starting some new articles? Our article structure guidelines outline some things to include.
- Interested in working on a more complete article? The military history peer review and collaboration departments would welcome your help!
- Interested in a particular area of military history? We have a number of task forces that focus on specific topics, nations, or periods.
- Want to know how good our articles are? The assessment department is working on rating the quality of every military history article in Wikipedia.
If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask one of the project coordinators, or any experienced member of the project, and we'll be happy to help you. Again, welcome! We look forward to seeing you around! Kirill Lokshin 17:28, 15 August 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Great job
Outstanding work on the ARA article. I'm inspired to get more work done on the FSB Ripcord page. Feel free to jump in there and lend a hand. Crockspot 15:02, 18 August 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Articles I'm Working on

- HMLA-367 - I have added content and some references, and continue to watch it.
- FSB Ripcord - I have added to the list of units involved and hope to add content soon.
- Patrick Henry Brady - US Army helicopter pilot and MOH winner.

[edit] Temperance Bar
Please then, why does the template say "You may remove this message if you improve the article, or if you otherwise object to deletion of the article for any reason?" Dan D. Ric 10:54, 11 September 2006 (UTC)
- A removal of a speedily delete message means the article is considered a proper article, and is not a candidate for deletion. Hangon should be used to stop an immediate delete, and to start a discussion. Generally, the user who created the page should not remove a speedily delete template. +Fin- 10:59, 11 September 2006 (UTC)
- Apologies, I did not realise the template was a delete template, and not a speedy. Regardless, the template should not be removed until the page has been substantially improved. As it stands, the Temperance Bar article is as it says on the delete template - non-notable, 100% spam - and should be deleted. +Fin- 11:07, 11 September 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Re: Block request
Thanks for your report, I have now blocked the user. Fortunately, I was online at the moment of your posting, but normally, you'd have gotten a swifter response at Wikipedia:Administrator intervention against vandalism (shortcut: WP:AIV). Regards, Mike Rosoft 16:59, 25 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Thanks
Thanks for the compliment re: the Attack helicopter page. I was planning on covering the Cobra longevity while discussing the AAH program and Apache. I'm currently looking for other research on the early development of the Russian Attack Helicopters. Thanks for your service, sir! (Born2flie 12:44, 4 October 2006 (UTC))
[edit] Monty Python's Life of Brian
Dan D. Ric, I don't understand why you reverted the page to the vandalised version. Please, try to revert to the correct version.:]--Qwerty 13:01, 5 October 2006 (UTC)
- I got your message, no problems.:)--Qwerty 13:02, 5 October 2006 (UTC)
- Oh, I never realised that Wikipedia worked that way. Anyway, if you want to monitor the page, it's alright. Sorry for the state of affairs. Thanks for explaining, also.
- Say, when do you feel is it necessary to issue warnings to vandals? Isn't it all too opinionated?--Qwerty 13:07, 5 October 2006 (UTC)
- Thanks Dan D. Ric for the advice regarding actions to take against vandals. --Qwerty 13:16, 5 October 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Nursing Portal & wikiproject
Hi, You may or may not be aware that User:THB has crated a Nursing Portal and Nursing Wikiproject aiming to improve Wikipedia's coverage of Nursing. It would be great if all Wikipedian nurses got involved. — Rod talk 19:14, 12 October 2006 (UTC)
[edit] vandalism?
when did adding {{fact}} become vandalism and nonsense? 68.40.243.186 10:41, 18 October 2006 (UTC)
- Good question. However, since I see no edits in your history of contributions that I have reverted, I have no way of giving you an answer. Dan D. Ric 10:53, 18 October 2006 (UTC)
