[edit] The Hearts

Is anyone able to tell me the significance of the hearts on the Danish krone?

It is simply the symbol of the Royal Mint, in Danish such a symbol is known as a møntmærke (literally: mark of the Mint.) Until the mid-1800s the symbol used was a crown. Denmark originally had three braches of the Mint issuing coins: Copenhagen (the Crown of Christian V), Altona - in modern Hamburg - a globus cruciger, Kongsberg (Norway) - a crossed miner's pickaxe and hammar.
The Royal Danish Mint's current symbol is no doubt inspired by the hearts in the coat of arms of Denmark. Valentinian (talk) 20:56, 13 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Suggestion for all currency pages

would be good to have a link to currency conversion tools. ideally a currency feed would be in all pages which has an active/trading currency.
