[edit] Summary

Photograph taken by the author of a message posted by Katsuma Dan on the door of the Misaki Marine Biological Station in Japan at the end of World War II. The note was removed by American Forces and given to the MBL at Woods Hole. Photographic copies were made and distributed to the other Marine Stations mentioned in the text. Because the original was claimed by the US government it appears that there is no copyright.
