Danube University Krems

The Danube University Krems (subtitled University of Continuing Education Krems; in German, Donau-Universität Krems and Universität für Weiterbildung Krems, respectively) calls itself "the only state-funded university throughout Europe that has specialised in post-graduate academic studies". It is located in Krems, Lower Austria. The first students enrolled in 1995.

Today, c. 3,000 students study at Danube University which offers 100 courses/degrees in five fields: (1) Business and Management Studies; (2) Telecommunications, Information and Mass Media; (3) European Integration; (4) Environmental and Medical Sciences; (5) Cultural Studies. The university co-operates with various foreign institutions, including the University of British Columbia and Case Western Reserve University.

From February 2005 on, Helmut Kramer, current director of the Austrian Institute of Economic Research (Vienna) with be the Rektor (Vice-Chancellor or President) of the university.
