Dansey Pass
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Dansey Pass (often incorrectly referred to as Dansey's Pass) is located in Central Otago, in the South Island of New Zealand.
It lies between the upper reaches of the Taieri River valley (known as the Strath-Taieri) and the upper plains of the Waitaki River at the northern end of the Kakanui Mountains. These mountains form a natural barrier between the Maniototo and North Otago.
Though not a major arterial road, the pass is a fairly well-used link between the towns of Naseby and Ranfurly in the south and the Mackenzie Basin of inland Canterbury. The summit of the pass is at 935 metres above sea level.
