[edit] Auditions
Danny Saucedo embarked on his journey in Swedish Idol 2006 by auditioning with the song "I Swear" by the R&B vocal quartet All-4-One. Although this performance was mediocre, he was however praise by the jury for his touching and his convincing voice.
His performances remained mediocre during the auditioning stages. The tide was altered Danny joined fellow contestant Felicia Brandström in a duet, singing Bryan Adams' "Everything I Do, I Do It For You", which according to the jury would become the best performance so far in Idol 2006. Every member of the jury was in consensus and explained that if both was to continue at this level of performance, they would easily end up in the final.
The jury's suite of good words soon faded away after Danny's performance of Nick Lachey's single "What's Left Of Me" in the semi-finals. The reason was, according to the jury, that his voice did not suit this song.
[edit] Finals
In the top 11 finals, Danny sang The Jackson Five's "Blame It On The Boogie while doing some Jackson moves e.g. The Moondance. Although Danny made the crowd cheer in harmony, the jury again not pleased with this performance. The jury meant that Danny would forget about concentrating in singing while dancing at the same time. However, Danny managed to stay in the finals, despite the jury's criticism.
In the top 10 finals, Danny stormed the stage and even made jury member Kishti Tomita weap in tears, singing the ballad "Öppna Din Dörr" by Swedish singer Tommy Nilsson. All the members of the jury agreed that this touching and sentimental version was the best performance so far in the competition.
