Daniel Alan David Jones, commonly known as Danny Jones (born March 12, 1986 in Bolton, Greater Manchester, England) is one of the lead vocalists and guitarists in the British pop band McFly, along with fellow band members Tom Fletcher, Dougie Poynter and Harry Judd. McFly rose to fame after former band Busted helped launch them by inviting them to tour in March 2004.

[edit] Biography

Danny's hometown is Bolton, and he supports Bolton Wanderers F.C. [1]. He went to Thornleigh High School and was taught music by a Mr. Martin. He grew up with his mother Kathy, his father Alan and older sister Vicky, who was on Steps To The Stars with him in 2000, with their band Y2K.

In McFly, Jones has co-written on all three albums, Room on the 3rd Floor, Wonderland, and Motion in The Ocean along with band members Tom Fletcher, Dougie Poynter and Harry Judd.

Jones' favourite male singers are Bruce Springsteen & The E-Street Band and The Who. His first gig was a Bruce Springsteen gig and he has said that his mother got him interested in him.

Jones has claimed that as a rule he's tried to live his life treating others as he wishes to be treated. Tom Fletcher characterises him as a "ladies' man,". There were once rumours going around that Danny wished to leave McFly[2] to pursue his solo career. However the band categorically denied this, with Danny saying that McFly was 'in his blood' and that he wouldn't want to leave anyway because it is his dream job. Danny once said in an interview that he will still be in McFly when he is 60.

Danny Jones also appeared in the teen comedy film Just My Luck along with the rest of McFly. They played themselves in the movie as their band trying to make it big in America. The movie hit theaters in the United States on May 12, 2006 and the UK on June 30, 2006. It is now out on DVD in both the USA and the UK.
