Danny Higginbotham (born 29 December 1978 in Manchester) is an English professional football player who currently plays as a defender for Stoke City.

Higginbotham started his career at Manchester United. However, he was unable to break into the first team after three seasons, so he was sold to Derby County. Following Derby's relegation from the Premier League, Higginbotham was sold to Southampton. After two and a half seasons at Southampton he rejected a new and improved contract and as a result was placed on the transfer list. On 3 August 2006 he joined Stoke City for an initial fee of £225,000.
