Danny Everett Stewart

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Danny Everett Stewart is a Canadian artist who started painting at an early age. He grew up on a farm and in urban Ontario. For more than a decade Stewart has made Victoria, British Columbia his home.

Stewart is best known for his abstract art creations.

Self trained; the artist began to gain attention while still in school winning several awards in local art shows, but after tragedy hit his family he stopped creating artworks.

“I think that pushed part of my life to one side” Stewart says. “I couldn't fully break through until I had reached a point in my life that allowed me to see things differently.”

After moving to the west coast he found clarity.

Since this time Stewart has created a prolific body of work, exploring colour and dimension as it relates to emotion.

More recently his works were presented at an art event at A-Channel in Victoria with enormous success. The interest in Stewart's work provided him with a new perspective on his art allowing him to once again exhibit his creations in a public forum.

“Emotion is often ignored in art.” Stewart says. “When the smoke finally cleared, I once again found the expression that I had known as a child the release for my physical and emotional state”

“My paintings are based on mood and emotion while being situated in a specific time and place. Such as any universal language I find art bridges vast expanses stretching imagination and drawing you closer to the work itself”

“My art is a way for me to communicate with you, without words, only expression on canvas.”

Stewart has also worked on a number of theatrical productions as scenic design and producer.

Danny Everett Stewart's next public show is UNHIBITED opening at the Lighthouse Gallery in Victoria, BC on November 16, 2006
