Daniel Higgs is a musician best known as the lead singer for Baltimore band Lungfish but in recent years has begun recording and performing as a solo artist with increasing frequency. Higgs performs on a number of different instruments including guitar, harmonium, banjo, toy piano, and perhaps most famously, the jew's harp (it is the only instrument on his 2005 album "Magic Alphabet"). His solo work tends to be more experimental than the music made by Lungfish and The Pupils, often characterized by extended track length and a droning, expansive playing style that sometimes recalls traditional Indian music.
