Daniel Vosovic

Daniel Vosovic (born March 25, 1981) is a fashion designer from Lowell, Michigan, and was a contestant on the second season of Project Runway. He finished second overall in the competition.

[edit] Education and early career
Vosovic graduated in 2005 from the Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT). In November 2004, he was selected as one of two students from FIT to participate in Milan's international design competition, Milano Studia la Moda. During the Pitti Filati 2004/2005 Trend Show, critic Emilio Cavalini chose one of Vosovic's designs for his window. Vosovic also worked as an intern for fashion designer Sari Gueron during the 2005 spring season in New York City.

In 2005, Vosovic auditioned in New York City for the second season of Project Runway. After going relatively unnoticed in the first few weeks, he went on to win five of the weekly challenges - the most by any contestant to date. He won the challenge in the fourth episode, the Team Lingerie challenge, the sixth episode, the Window Shopping challenge along with his partner Andrae Gonzalo, the eighth episode, the Inspiration challenge, the ninth episode, the Flower Power challenge, and the eleventh episode, the What's Your Line challenge. Vosovic was one of the three designers selected to show at Olympus Fashion Week, along with Chloe Dao and Santino Rice. Vosovic was awarded second place behind Dao. An online poll of viewers conducted during the finale on bravotv.com placed Vosovic as the favorite with 42% of the vote. Although Vosovic did not win the grand prize, Designer and "Project Runway" judge Michael Kors offered Vosovic a job with his company after the announcement of Dao as the winner. Although, Vosovic later stated in his blog that after meeting with Michael Kors, Kors decided that Vosovic was not right for the job.
He is currently designing uniforms for the new hotel chain, NYLO.

Vosovic was a competitive gymnast at a junior Olympic level as a youth, but an injury led him to pursue a new path. He is gay although he has described his sexual orientation as '80/20', favoring men. He came out shortly before appearing on Project Runway. At present, he has a boyfriend, Kieran.
