Daniel Nardiello (born October 22, 1982 in Coventry) is an English football player. Currently wearing the number 23 shirt for Barnsley after being released by Manchester United on May 27, 2005.
Nardiello signed for Manchester United on October 22, 1999, a product of the Youth Academy at Wolverhampton Wanderers, making his debut in a United shirt on November 11, 2001 against Arsenal. He spent the second half of the 2003-2004 season on loan to Barnsley scoring 7 goals in 16 games. Having become a firm favourite with the Barnsley fans, Nardiello returned to Oakwell on a season long loan for the 2004-2005 football campaign. Dogged with injuries Daniel still managed to play in 30 games scoring 7 goals for the first team. During the 2005-2006 season Nardiello again plagued with injuries, however he still managed to score another 7 goals in [ ] games. He became a hero amongst the Barnsley fans after scoring 2 vital goals in Barnsley's play off games - the first, the winning goal against Huddersfield Town in the second leg of the play off semi finals - and the second, the goal that fired Barnsley into a penalty shoot-out at the Millenium Stadium in Cardiff which Barnsley won 4-3 on May 27th 2006. Nardiello has currently made 87 appearances for Barnsley scoring 22 goals.
His father, Don Nardiello, was a winger at West Bromwich Albion and Coventry in the late 1970's and won two caps for Wales. Daniel could play for Wales, England, Puerto Rico or the United States. Danny has recently announced that his chosen national team is Wales.
