Daniel Levy (Tottenham Hotspur)

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Daniel Levy (born February 8, 1963 in Essex) is the current chairman of Premier League football club Tottenham Hotspur. He took over from Sir Alan Sugar in February of 2001. He is also Managing Director of ENIC plc, a sports, entertainment and media group. He was formerly a director of Scottish football club Glasgow Rangers, in which ENIC held a significant stake. They also held stakes in clubs such as Slavia Prague, Vicenze, and non-football companies such as Warner Bros.

Daniel Levy is widely regarded as having had a significant effect on the upturn in the fortunes of his boyhood club, Tottenham. A life-long fan, he led the club back into European football with a number of astute buys and appointments, especially head coach Martin Jol. After a few difficult years in charge, Levy is now well-regarded and respected by the Spurs fans, and by his Head Coach Martin Jol, who has often publically praised the support he has received from the Board, both financially and materially.

Levy has a wife and 3 children - Josh (aged 17), Ollie (aged 14) and Chloe (aged 2). He is the only Premier League chairman who has a first class degree from Cambridge University.
