OHL After-Priority Selection- Kitchener Rangers 1st Round(8th) 2005
Kim was drafted by the Kitchener Rangers in 2005 where he was drafted 8th overall in a separate draft held for players who were unable to compete at the time, a week after the original Priority Draft. Kim has played for two OHL teams in the span of his rookie year, with Kitchener and Owen Sound. Kim, who re-signed with Kitchener at the trade deadline this year, has five wins and one loss in six preseason starts with the Kitchener Rangers and the Owen Sound Attack, before going inactive this season due to waiver clauses. He has since dedicated himself to working harder in order to join the team in the 2006-2007 season.
Kim currently resides in Waterloo Ontario, with his parents Ken and Lily, and his sister Alice.
