Daniel Canan

Daniel Canan is the mayor of Muncie, Indiana. Muncie lies on the White River in the East Central portion of the state, is the county seat of Delaware County.He was born on October 18, 1953 and graduated from Mucie Central High School. He was elected mayor in November 1995 and assumed office during 1996. Before becoming mayor, he owned and ran a pharmacy called Canan Pharmacy. He was the owner of the business for fifteen years beginning at 1980 and continuing, until he became mayor, til 1995. He is married to his wife, Barbara, and they have two children, Lindsey and Joshua.

Canan announced on Nov. 30, 2006 that he would not seek a fourth term as the city's mayor.
