Daniel Bălan (born September 18, 1979) is a Romanian soccer player, currently under contract withSteaua Bucharest, but loaned to Omonia Nicosia of Cyprus.
Prior to joining Steaua, Bălan also played for Bucovina Suceava, Foresta II Fălticeni and FC Vaslui (on loan).
In 2002 he suffered a very serious injury, something similar with the one Marco van Basten had and was not able to play football for a period of two years.
