Dani Harmer (born Danielle Jane Harmer on February 8, 1989) is a British actress best known for her portrayal of the main character in the hit CBBC television show The Story of Tracy Beaker based on the books by Jaqueline Wilson for which she auditioned when she was twelve years old. She also played this role in 5 mini episodes of the television show in aid of the 2004 edition of Children in Need and in a stage play performed at Buckingham Palace at the 2006 Children's Party at the Palace that featured characters from several British children's books to celebrate Queen Elizabeth II's 80th birthday.
As well as playing Tracy Beaker, Dani has also played a recurring character (Amy Walker) in ITV drama Trial & Retribution. Other programmes Dani has appeared in include Casualty, My Family, Pie In The Sky, The 10th Kingdom, Beast and she was also a "packer" in the latest series of the Saturday morning program Mighty Truck of Stuff.
Dani was recently cast in the new BBC sitcom "After You've Gone" alongside Nicholas Lyndhurst and Celia Imrie. The sitcom was created and written by Fred Barron, the creator of "My Family".
Dani Harmer started acting at the Redroofs Theatre School in Maidenhead.
