Dan Shanahan

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Dan Shanahan (born 4 January 1977) is an Irish sportsperson who plays hurling with Waterford and Lismore at club level.

Standing at more than 6ft tall, Dan is considered to be more of a physical player than an athlete.

Having been involved with Waterford hurling since 1997, Dan has won 2 Munster Senior Hurling finals in 2002 and 2004.

2004 was Dan's best year in hurling. In the first game against Clare Dan scored a hat-trick of goals (an impressive feat in hurling). He added to this by scoring another 2 against Tipperary and then scoring a vital goal against Cork in the 2004 Munster Hurling Final.

For his scoring prowess in the 2004 Munster Hurling Championship, Dan was awarded with a Hurling All Star Award.
