Dan Kennedy

Daniel Hoffard "Dan" Kennedy, (22 July, 1982) is an American goalkeeper with the Puerto Rico Islanders, a football team in the USL First Division.

Born in Fullerton, California, Kennedy attended El Dorado High School. After graduating, he went on to the University of California, Santa Barbara, where he majored in Communication and also played for the soccer team, the UCSB Gauchos[1], setting a record for number of shutouts. During his college years he also played with Orange County Blue Star in the USL Premier Development League, where he played alongside Jürgen Klinsmann. He left University in 2003, and joined the MetroStars as a substitute goalkeeper, before joining the Puerto Rico Islanders in 2005[2]. He made his debut with the club and his performances in the season saw him finish second in the league's goalkeeping stakes and led to him being named Rookie of the Year by the United Soccer Leagues. [3] Kennedy has noted Oliver Kahn as an inspiration.[1]
