Rev Dr Dan Beach Bradley

Dan Beach Bradley (1804-1873) was a Christian missionary to Siam from 1835 until his death. In addition to his missionary work, he served as a doctor, printer, writer, government advisor, and an unofficial American Ambassador. He is credited by the modern Thai people as introducing Western medicine to the country, printing the first non-government run newspaper, and was the teacher of kings Mongkut and Chulalongkorn. He remained in Siam during the time Anna Leonowens was in residence. However, as respected as he was (and still is) by the people of Siam, after thirty years of dedicated missionary service, he could not point to one true convert.

Dr. Dan Beach Bradley was the first person to teach Siamese people to use the vaccination technology [citation needed].
