Damaem Kelly is a professional boxer born in Belfast, Northern Ireland. Kelly now fights at Bantamweight but is more noted for fighting within the Flyweight division.
Kelly boxed as an amateur for Ireland and won a bronze medal at the European Amateur Boxing Championships in 1996. This qualified Kelly for the 1996 Summer Olympics where he reached the quarter finals. Kelly turned professional in September 1997, winning his first fight at the Ulster Hall, Belfast, County Antrim, Northern Ireland, in which Kelly beat Welshman Chris Thomas on an undercard that included Steve Robinson, Julius Francis and Neil Sinclair.
Kelly is a former British Flyweight Title, Commonwealth Flyweight Title, WBC International Super Flyweight Title, European (EBU) Flyweight Title, IBO Flyweight Title, WBF Flyweight Title, IBO Super Flyweight Title holder and is currently Irish-boxing.com's number one ranked Irish bantamweight boxer.[1]
