Dalkeith, Western Australia

Dalkeith is a suburb of Perth, Western Australia, located within the City of Nedlands. Its postcode is 6009. The suburb is surrounded on three sides by the Swan River and is home to some of Perth's finest mansions.
The suburb takes its name from a cottage built in 1833 by Captain Adam Armstrong and his sons, early settlers of the area that arrived aboard the ship the Clarence. Armstrong, previously being the manager of the Earl of Dalkeith's estate in Scotland, named the cottage ‘Dalkeith Cottage’Other areas named by the Armstrong family are Ravenswood and Nedlands. A ned being a slang term for useless.[1]
