[edit] Wilcox-McCandlish law
Why is that there? It should just go away. There are no more links of any kind to it in articlespace. :-) — SMcCandlish [talk] [contrib] ツ 00:28, 7 December 2006 (UTC)
- Could you clarify that.--Dakota 01:19, 7 December 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Superman: The Man of Steel (film)
I know you have had this page deleted before, I think we recently did it a week ago. It seems the page is being continuously created. Is there a way we can protect this title as well until there is enough information to actually warrant a page? It may seem advisable to protect both variations of the name (film) and (2009 film). [edit] FreeOTFE
Please read another user's edits before accusing them of vandalism. The changes made to the FreeOTFE page by User_talk:128.138.207.44 are actually valid; it looks like it does actually support mobile devices now. It would also probably be a good idea to remove the last warning added to that user's page? (For once it wasn't vandalism!) ++Martin++ 04:20, 10 December 2006 (UTC)

- I will take your word for it and removed only that warning. The others are valid and include image vandalism.--Dakota 04:25, 10 December 2006 (UTC)
[edit] WikiProject The Beatles Newsletter Issue 8, December 2006
WikiProject The Beatles Newsletter |
|
Wikipedia's standards are improving all the time, with the result that many articles in The Beatles Wikiproject are being nominated for review of their FA and GA status - and many are losing that accolade. It is difficult, with such a large number of articles and the ease with which editors may make changes which are detrimental, to maintain the standard of articles, let alone improve them. As ever, members efforts are both appreciated and needed to keep the Project on course.
|
If one is to be mercenary about the subject, it should be noted that Paul McCartney is going to be more noteworthy than usual in the near future as his divorce case comes to court. In that case it is great to note that a small group of Project Members (plus another individual who does not feel compelled to register himself despite important contributions) have worked very hard, and in an atmosphere of good humour, to take the McCartney piece to a succesful Good Article nomination. Perhaps this is the method to use for future articles, a small dedicated team concentrating on one subject at a time. Of course, all members are invited to join any existing group or even go about forming their own. Please note any such action in the Project Log. If you've just joined, add your name to the Participants section of Wikipedia:WikiProject The Beatles. You'll get a mention in the next issue of the Newsletter and get it delivered as desired. Also, please include your own promotions and awards in future issues. Don't be shy! Lastly, this is your newsletter and you can be involved in the creation of the next issue (Issue 009 – January 2007). Any and all contributions are welcome. Simply let yourself be known to any of the undersigned, or just start editing!

[edit] Thank you for voting
Thank you for voting in my RfA which at 51/20/6 unfortunately did not achieve consensus. In closing the nomination, Essjay remarked that it was one of the better discussed RfAs seen recently and I would like to thank you and all others who chose to vote for making it as such. It was extremely humbling to see the large number of support votes, and the number of oppose votes and comments will help me to become stronger. I hope to run again for adminship soon. Thank you all once more. Wikiwoohoo 20:14, 11 December 2006 (UTC)[edit] Mystery revert
Any particular reason for this? - 152.91.9.144 00:36, 13 December 2006 (UTC)
-
- It looks as though you removed part of an AfD.--Dakota 00:39, 13 December 2006 (UTC)
- As nicely as possible, how long did you spend examining the diff before you hit the revert button? Even the briefest examination of either the previous AFD version or this IP's edit history should have given you pause.

[edit] Your Dec 11th Message to JavaBeanRush
Hi, On Dec 11 you accused me of vandalism but I haven't done any such thing. Would you include specific examples of what you think I vandalised? Otherwise I'll be forced to believe your threat of banishment is based on arbitrary standards and I will have to report you.
Sincerely,
Javabeanrush 04:31, 13 December 2006 (UTC)JavaBeanRush
Updated --
I see that you called my additions to Marge Champion's page vandalism. I've read the Vandalism Standard page you left on my user talk page . My changes are not what is considered vanadlism.
What are you calling vandalism? Would you please take that warning off my user talk page?
This edit [1].--Dakota 05:50, 13 December 2006 (UTC)
Would you please explain how that particular edit is against the stated policies? Javabeanrush 08:22, 13 December 2006 (UTC)
- I reverted the edit which left the last warning before it as the final one. When you put in a detail such as that it can easily be mistaken. It might be a good idea to link it next time.--Dakota 14:43, 13 December 2006 (UTC)
I see. Thanks Javabeanrush 07:39, 14 December 2006 (UTC)
Does this mean I can put the information back onto the page (with citations/links)? Javabeanrush 07:43, 14 December 2006 (UTC)
- Well of course.--Dakota 07:50, 14 December 2006 (UTC)
[edit] want a student?
Hi DakotaKahn! I see from the status page that you don't have an admin coaching student right now. Are you still interested in being a coach? If so I'll match you with a student soon. Thanks, Fang Aili talk 22:57, 13 December 2006 (UTC)
[edit] I've lifted an autoblock of yours
Hi Dakota, You recently blocked C.lettingaAntivandal (talk • contribs), presumably for a username violation. This was created by C.lettinga (talk • contribs) as a vandal fighting account, independent of his content-creating account. C.lettinga is a new, but good faith editor with no record of vandalism. I'm familiar with his editing and believe he simply never considered that such an account name might violate policy. Anyway, I concur with the block of his new account, but I have lifted the autoblock on his IP, to permit him to continue editing with his regular account (see here). I hope this is fine with you. Do let me know otherwise. Thanks. Rockpocket 02:58, 14 December 2006 (UTC)
