Thanks for your kind words on my user page, and I hope you have a great time over the holidays as well. SWD316 talk to me 21:21, 20 December 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Prospecting

See Gold Prospectors Association of America if you are still interested in prospecting for gold. You have to be prepared for the terrain, the area's political climate(See State of Emergency then See the State of Emergency Declarations for New Mexico and Arizona), and use common sense. Yes, really use common sense. You'll need some flashlights. I recomend the new Luxeon LED flashlights, other newer LED flashlights for use in camp functions and exploring old mines and caves, of course exploring these is not recomended due to various hazards, such as snakes, deadly spiders such as the Black Widow and the Brown Recluse/Fiddleback Spider, cave-ins, deadly gases, other animals, and, due to the political situation in these two states, surrounding states, illegal aliens are also dangerous. I am NOT a racist. You will need more than one radio, and I recomend the Grundig Self Powered model. It has a hand cranked generator on it, thus batteries will not be much of a problem. Find this on sale @ your local Radio Shack. I also recomend the Baygen Freeplay radio found on The C. Crane Homepage. This company also sells "self powered" flashlights. you'll need Metal Detectors, shovels, picks, a drywasher, a dredge, means of camping, a First Aid kit, more than one of these, a GOOD C.B. and a GOOD Cell phone, more than one gold pan,"sucker bottles"(to remove the gold dust out of your gold pan), a good prospecting guide, thus you need to join GPAA, so you'll know what to do in the gold fields.

A "Tenderfoot" is a beginner, "Scissor-bills" are troublemakers, you stay away from them, a "Sourdough" is a veteran gold prospector. This is some of the jargon used in the GPAA.

One other thing: Be careful out there, so that you don't get ripped off @ all, and use common sense.

Click on their website located in the External Links section of the Gold Prospectors Association of America article to find out more, to join this organization.Martial Law 09:09, 21 December 2005 (UTC)

Hi Dakota! I just want to say Merry Christmas and Happy Channuka to you! - Darwinek 10:38, 22 December 2005 (UTC)

Why am I banned? Do you not believe what I wrote is true? I was present at the inception of Blue Collar Comedy and I have video footage of Satan shitting out the four members (I'll mail it to you if necessary). You need to get off your power-trip and let fact be fact. Don't try to rewrite history.—The preceding unsigned comment was added by 69.208.148.237 (talkcontribs)..

[edit] Holiday wishes from Ann

Hi, Dakota. Many thanks for your kind greetings, which I return to you. I must confess that as I'm a committed Catholic, the words "Happy Holidays" don't come naturally to me. But I see from your user page that you're Jewish, so I don't wish to offend your beliefs. Anyway, whatever we call it, I hope that this season will be one of peace and joy for you, and I hope that next time I visit your user page, the wiki-stress meter will be at Level One! Cheers, and thanks again for your friendliness! AnnH (talk) 23:32, 24 December 2005 (UTC)

Yeah, I noticed that too, but thanks to your help, the link is fixed. Other than that minor adjustment, though, the banner looks exactly like yours. ;-) Cheers, Sango123 (talk) 16:05, 27 December 2005 (UTC)

[edit] RfA thanks from Deathphoenix

Hi DakotaKahn (your name reminds me of an old book series I used to read as a kid: The Daventures of Dakota King, I think it was),

I just wanted to thank you for supporting me in my RfA. To tell you the truth, I was surprised by all the support I've gotten. I never saw myself as more than an occasional Wiki-hobbyist.

My wife sends her curses, as Wikipedia will likely suck up more of my time. She jokingly (I think) said she was tempted to log on to Wikipedia just to vote Oppose and let everyone know that she didn't want her husband to be an admin.

I'll make sure your trust in me is founded. I've always wanted to visit Phoenix just because of the name. :-) --Deathphoenix 15:01, 28 December 2005 (UTC)

119 degrees? Yech, maybe not. :-) --Deathphoenix 21:28, 28 December 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Photos

Thank you very much for that photo link. I really appreciate it. It seems like a great public domain photo repository. If you will find another interesting stuff, just let me know. Btw. I will probably upload some photos to Commons, I will let you know. - Darwinek 09:15, 29 December 2005 (UTC)

I took plenty of photos this christmas, but I think only a few were worth uploading. You'll find 'em in my gallery. - Darwinek 13:56, 29 December 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Family Guy

Thanks for the notice. I've referred him to Wikipedia:Civility but didn't issue a block because he's been silent for a while. Since all of his edits involve either removing content from articles, asking editors listed first at Special:Listusers to visit his talk page, or adding himself to Wikipedia:List of administrators, please report him the next time this happens. Thanks again! Sango123 (talk) 16:25, 29 December 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Photos

Hello Dakota. We are still hit by pretty amount of snow see, so I have decided to take some photos in my town. I guess you haven't too much snow right in Texas. You can find 'em here. Aren't they romantic? - Darwinek 19:18, 30 December 2005 (UTC)

Those photos from FWS are beautiful. There is also a image copyright tag for that photos Template:PD-USGov-Interior-FWS. It is slightly below average cold here (as in central-european winter), -6 Celsius degrees. - Darwinek 20:22, 30 December 2005 (UTC)
No, you should not. I've did it already. ;) - Darwinek 20:30, 30 December 2005 (UTC)
