Daily dippin

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Daily Dippin is formely a website-now blog created by a group of current students at Friends Seminary, in New York City. The site is known for its humorous but serious approach to all sports throughout the world, but with an extra focus on New York sports teams. It was originally a regular website, but due to many factors has turned into more of a blog.

The original website was known for its "list," which contained a list of 1-100 of players, with often times random numbers being skipped. Although the 'Dippin creators will not disclose what the "list" stands for, Tino Martinez and Scott Brosious were always in the top 5, no matter who else changed or moved around. Lately, the site has taken a fascination with Jared "The Hefty Lefty" Lorenzen of the New York Giants, and Raja Bell's website, which includes a running countdown to when the site will officially launch, but every time the countdown reaches 0, the clock starts again.

In June 2006, two deadspin reporters travelled to Germany, where they posted daily about their adventures following the U.S. team. The two reporters were able to stay on the upbeat side, despite America's embarrising performance.

the website's moto is: The Daily Dippin is the work of a few sports addicted high schoolers who watched too much sports, and wanted to figure out how to make that look good. Now affiliated with the school, this website lets them stop feeling guilty about putting off homework to watch PTI.

Although the Daily Dippin has focused on collegiate level and above, they shifted their focus to Friends Seminary High School sports, including Boys JV and Varsity (2006 Private School State Champs: NYSIAS), Girls JV and Varsity, and Varsity Squash
