[edit] Welcome to Wikipedia!

Da.Tomato.Dude - I like your name too :)

How do you create links to other pages, easy! Just put two square brackets on each side like this [[User talk:Glen S]] - that comes out User talk:Glen S! These are called wikilinks. If it is a link outside Wikipedia use one square bracket on each side and list the whole URL like [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User_talk:Glen_S] which comes out [1]! (Note even tho I linked to the same page here, you can put any website in between the brackets :) Note, if that a wikilink is red like User talk:Glen S/Red link --> it means it hasnt been created yet. To do that, just press the red link, and hit edit at the top! Simple!

Okay! Basically, to help get you settled in, I've added a few links that you might find useful. Here are some policy pages all about how things work here (yes they are a bit boring but they'll really help you!)

Don't worry too much about being perfect. Very few of us are! Just in case you are not perfect, click here to see how you can avoid making common mistakes.

If you are stuck, and looking for help, please come to the New contributors' help page, where experienced Wikipedians can answer any queries you have! Or, you can just type {{helpme}} on your user page, and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions.

Wikipedians try to follow a strict policy of never biting new users. If you are unsure of how to do something, you are welcome to ask a more experienced user such as an administrator. I hope I have not overwhelmed you with information! If you need any help just let me know. Once again welcome to Wikipedia, and don't forget to tell us about yourself here and whatever you do, being shy is not allowed here, so edit away and BE BOLD!

Hi again -- when you say, "how do I get a new page to pop up", do you mean in a new window? Because I'm really not sure how to do that on here, if it's even possible. In regular HTML, you would use a target tag like so:

<a href="link" target="_blank">link text</a>

Okay, for user subpages, you just append it to your user space with a slash, like so: User:Omicronpersei8/Archives

Hi DTD- this is Emily. Sorry if this is the wrong place to edit info and put stuff, but I couldn't find a better place so here I am. My mom is still "thinking" abotu Saturday, so I don't know about that yet... I made a webpage so we could talk back and forth since our emails don't connect. Note Don't copy the "NoWiki" part.
