Hi, I apreciate the fact that you have gotten permission to use the image on Wikipedia, but the problem here is that Wikipedia only accept free content, and having an exclusive permission to use something only on Wikipedia does not make it free content, this was explained on the notice that where put on the image when you uploaded it (please let us know how that message could be made clearer).
What we need is for the copyright holder to give explicit permission for anyone to use that image under terms that would qualify as a free licence, that is anyone must be eable to use, modify and potentialy use that image for commercial purposes. Only then can it be considered to be "free licensed" and used on Wikipedia. Please see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for details for more info and tips on how to go about requesting this.
Failing that please read Wikipedia:Fair use#Policy, if the image meet all the criterea listed there you may make a fair use claim along with a fair use rationale justifying the use of the unfree image in the article(s) you intend to include it in. --Sherool (talk) 11:04, 9 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Welcome to the Military history WikiProject!
Hi, and welcome to the Military history WikiProject! As you may have guessed, we're a group of editors working to improve Wikipedia's coverage of topics related to military history.
A few features that you might find helpful:
- Our navigation box points to most of the useful pages within the project.
- The announcement and open task box is updated very frequently. You can watchlist it if you're interested; or, you can add it directly to your user page by including {{WPMILHIST Announcements}} there.
- Most important discussions take place on the project's main discussion page; it is highly recommended that you watchlist it.
- The project has a monthly newsletter; it will normally be delivered as a link, but several other formats are available.
There are a variety of interesting things to do within the project; you're free to participate however much—and wherever—you'd like:
- Starting some new articles? Our article structure guidelines outline some things to include.
- Interested in working on a more complete article? The military history peer review and collaboration departments would welcome your help!
- Working on featured-level articles? We have some advice for nominators, and an A-Class review process to help check high-quality articles.
- Want to help with specific requests for assistance? Our requests page has extensive lists of requested articles, images, maps, and translations.
- Interested in a particular area of military history? We have a number of task forces that focus on specific topics, nations, or periods.
- Want to know how good our articles are? The assessment department is working on rating the quality of every military history article in Wikipedia.
If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask one of the project coordinators, or any experienced member of the project, and we'll be happy to help you. Again, welcome! We look forward to seeing you around! Kirill Lokshin 04:19, 20 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Do you have complex?
Do you always humiliate people in order to get advantage on them? Or is it a Kurdish inherited habit, a complex of not having a country and not being a nation. One Kurd does not understands the other when they speak to each other, you know that I am sure. Do not tempt people to be racists...especially Turks, trust me.(cantikadam 13:53, 8 November 2006 (UTC))
[edit] Image:Peshmerga.jpg listed for deletion
If you created this media file and want to use it on Wikipedia, you may re-upload it, but use the license {{GFDL-self}} to license it under the GFDL, or {{cc-by-sa-2.5}} to license it under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike license, or use {{PD-self}} to release it into the public domain.
If you did not create this media file but want to use it on Wikipedia, there are two ways to proceed. First, you may choose one of the fair use tags from this list if you believe one of those fair use rationales applies to this file. Second, you may want to contact the copyright holder and request that they make the media available under a free license.
If you have any questions please ask at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you. --RobthTalk 23:09, 18 November 2006 (UTC)- I don't get it, why did you delete the picture you did not wait for me to replay, 3 Minutes after I uploaded the picture you deleted it. You at least could have waited for me to reply and then could have decided to delete image. There was no copyright on the image at all; I also took the time to write to the owner of the picture to ask permission to USE IT ON WIKIPEDIA. He said it was OK to use it on WIKIPEDIA. YOU NEED TO TAKE TIME TO READ THE INFO ON THE PICTURE AND NOT DELEAT THEM WITHIN 3 MINUTES. I WILL UPLOAD THIS IMAGE AGIAN; IT IS NOT INFRINGING ANY COPYRIGHTS, ITS TOTALLY FREE CONTENT. --D.Kurdistani 23:21, 18 November 2006 (UTC)
- "Ok to use on Wikipedia" is not considered a sufficiently free license; our image policy is based not only on avoiding lawsuits ourselves, but also ensuring that our content is as freely redistributable as possible. If you would like to re-upload the file, I suggest contacting the copyright holder and asking him to release the file under a license such as GFDL or CC-by-SA, and then forwarding the email to permissions (at) wikimedia (dot) org. For now, however, if you continue to upload this file with this license it will continue to be deleted, by myself or another administrator; permission-only images are not accepted on Wikipedia. --RobthTalk 23:26, 18 November 2006 (UTC)

Can you provide a source and license for this? --Cat out 21:13, 25 November 2006 (UTC)
- Sorry I did not put a source on the image my mistake, but when I try to put a source on the image it won’t let met. The correct source is “Source: www.defenselink.mil”, if you can put it on the image. --D.Kurdistani 23:17, 25 November 2006 (UTC)
- That isn't an acceptable source. I need a link to the page the image appears on. I also need a license. --Cat out 23:19, 25 November 2006 (UTC)
- Below is the correct information you can put on the image, but I still can’t put that on the image my self or I don’t have access to it. --D.Kurdistani 23:33, 25 November 2006 (UTC)
- That isn't an acceptable source. I need a link to the page the image appears on. I also need a license. --Cat out 23:19, 25 November 2006 (UTC)

- I have added that info but the URL you provided doesn't seem to be working.
