D. E. Stevenson

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

D. E. Stevenson (1892-1973) - married name Dorothy Emily Peploe - was a Scottish author of light romantic novels. Her father was the lighthouse engineer David Alan Stevenson and she was distantly related to the writer Robert Louis Stevenson.

Many of her novels were set in the Scottish borders and in the fictional town of Ryddelton (Moffat), and have minor characters who are the subjects of her other books, making a network of information in her own little universe. Other books are set around the town of Wandlebury.

Stevenson's main characters are predominantly from the upper-middle classes, though the minor characters are from all walks of life.
