D'Ari

D'Ari Pouyat, generally known as D'Ari, is a Canadian rock singer, currently the primary singer, songwriter and guitarist for Canadian band Nine Mile. Born in 1978, he grew up in Waterloo, Ontario. He is a first generation of his Jamaican family to be born in Canada. He began singing at 3 years old on the way to pre-school in the car with his mom. A few years later, he began studying piano. Guitar became his focus only after beginning highschool. D'Ari founded Dreadrock Records Inc. with a business partner from New York City in 2003. He signed his own band, Nine Mile, and eventually singer/songwriter Melissa Larkin and acoustic/soul crooner Matt York.

D'Ari is an avid longboarder, a vegetarian, and loves all types of music.
