Džemal Bijedić

Džemal Bijedić (Џемал Биједић) (born April 22, 1917, Mostar – died January 18, 1977) was a Yugoslav Communist politician from Bosnia and Herzegovina. He died in a plane crash.

  • President of the Federal Executive Council of the Socialist Federative Republic of Yugoslavia (1971–1977)

Between 1977 and 1992, the University of Mostar was named after Bijedić. Since 1994 a separate "Džemal Bijedić" University operates in eastern part of Mostar.
