Džejla Glavović

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Džejla Glavović of Bosnia & Herzegovina is the second Miss Earth winner. She won the pageant's 2002 edition, held in Manila, Philippines. She was also the first pageant winner to be dethroned, being succeeded by her first-runner up, Winfred Omwakwe of Kenya. This came in the same year when another pageant winner, Miss Universe's Oxana Fedorova was dethroned.

Carousel Productions, the pageant organizer, cite her failure to fulfill her duties as the main reason for her unseating.

Although she was officially dethroned as Miss Earth on May 23, 2003, controversies were already brewing at the moment she was crowned in October 2002, when criticizing her for being "antisocial", walked out of the stage upon Džejla's proclamation as the winner.
