Dörtyol
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Dörtyol is a port and oil terminus at the head of the Gulf of İskenderun in southeastern Turkey. The name means "four routes" in Turkish. In 2004 the town had an estimated 60,000 inhabitants. As well as oil-handling, the economic activities of Dörtyol and its region include forestry, cotton-growing, and the cultivation of citrus fruits.
It used to be partly an Armenian village, until the First World War. Nowadays, only Turkish people live here.
