Désiré Rakotoarijaona

Lieutenant-Colonel Désiré Rakotoarijaona (born 1934) is a former Prime Minister of Madagascar. He held the position from 1 August 1977 until 12 February 1988[1] under President Didier Ratsiraka. Rakotoarijaona was replaced by Victor Ramahatra. Rakotoarijaona also ran in the November 1996 presidential election but finished with less than .4% of the total vote,[2] thus decisively ending his political career.
